Use this “Make a Copy” trick when sharing Google Drive documents
When you right click and get the shareable link to your document on Google Drive, you can edit it just a little and allow your readers to make their own copy of it. That way, you still can make changes to the original and they will have a personal copy to do the same.
Easy Squeezy:
The video below will show you how to get the sharable link to your document and edit it. Basically we are taking the original url and editing the end only.
EX: My document share link is //docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bI26P4IU_7feqIplNFC8FIg-lvBl_VA_sOYC0RQLay8/edit?usp=sharing
I remove the “edit?usp=sharing” at the end and replace with “copy” – //docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bI26P4IU_7feqIplNFC8FIg-lvBl_VA_sOYC0RQLay8/copy
